EC-In-France was created by Megan Martel, a US-American who holds a B.A. in French from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Master's in International Education from New York University. Megan's international experience ranges from studying at the Université de La Sorbonne- Nouvelle/Paris III through C.I.E.E. to working and teaching in the United States and France for established universities, schools, and study abroad programs. Her teaching experience spans from individual literacy and language instruction for New York University’s Center for Urban Education to teaching, planning and implementing the American section’s Language Arts curriculum for grades 6-9 at Cheverus Middle School in Bordeaux, Fr. She also has worked as both an EFL teacher for Ecole Notre Dame and as the Assistant Director of Int’l Program Development for L’Institut d’Administration des Entreprises, Université Montesquieu Bordeaux IV. Professionally, she has had the opportunity to really grow as an international educator both in program development and teaching in France and the United States. Megan's experience working for both American and French institutions and, more importantly, the cultural exchange and connection between the two cultures, inspired her to found her own business with her French husband and business partner Julien Martel in January 2011.
